Narrandera Shire Council mayor Cr Neville Kschenka has given an assurance that the Council will continue advocating for road improvements along the Sturt Highway.

Deputy general manager (Infrastructure) Shane Wilson added that Transport for NSW had advised council that new signage would be installed to the approaches of the Irrigation Way bridge and that council had budgeted to install a solar powered streetlight at the Irrigation Way and Karawatha Drive intersection.

The council’s traffic committee were also briefed on potential issues identified by Ccouncil relating to the Transport for NSW’s Renewal Energy Transport Plan.

Tenders for the project management of the stormwater upgrade works is also to be tabled at council’s June Ordinary Meeting.

Council was also briefed on an update to the Nallabooma Estate and Airport preferred levee feasibility study and voluntary house purchase scheme.
