Narrandera’s multicultural spirit was on full display last weekend as thousands flocked to Marie Bashir Park for the Narrandera International Food Fair.

The event, co-hosted by the CWA Narrandera Evening Branch and the Lions Club of Narrandera, delivered a vibrant celebration of global flavours, music, dance, and community connection.

Food stalls representing Australia, Romania, Tibet, USA, the Philippines, Netherlands, Italy and China drew long queues throughout the day, with many vendors reporting record sales.

Local market stallholders added colour and variety with handmade crafts, clothing, homewares, and unique merchandise.

Entertainment was a standout feature, with performances from Remedy, With One Voice Riverina, Narrandera East Infants School, the Narrandera Wannabees Ukulele Group, Shake Shake Theatre puppet show, Leeton Pipe Band, Home among the Gum Trees and Yanco Agricultural High School Drum Band.

A diverse lineup of cultural dance groups included Coota Bollywood All Stars, Just Fling it Highland Dance Studio and the Solomon Islander Dancers. Thanks to Owen Lyons from Sandhill Artefacts for his display of First Nations culture.

Families enjoyed free activities face painting, yard games, a jumping castle and pickleball sessions hosted by the Narrandera Tennis Club.

The fair was supported by Multicultural NSW’s Stronger Together Festivals and Events Grants Program, Stromlo Energy – Devlin’s Bridge Wind Farm, Community Bank Narrandera and District (Bendigo Bank), Narrandera Shire Council, Triple M 963 AM Riverina MIA, Hit 99.7, Mardi’s Cleaning Services, CG Skips and Narrandera Business Chamber.

Manildra Group donated their mix and oil to ensure the return of the popular CWA cinnamon donut stall.

A special thanks to all of the Smith family, helpers from Narrandera Hospital Auxiliary and Simone from Intereach Griffith who worked tirelessly across the whole event cooking donuts for the CWA stall.

Organisers described the day as one of Narrandera’s most successful community events in recent years, praising the strong turnout and enthusiastic participation. With its blend of culture, cuisine, and community spirit, the Narrandera International Food Fair once again proved to be a highlight on the local calendar.
