Temora Kangaroos netball players scooped some major awards in this year’s Farrer League medal count.

The Kangaroos’ A Grade netball co-coach Abbey Reinhold was this season’s Marilyn Brooks Medal winner, finishing with 23 votes, just one vote ahead of nearest rival East Wagga Kooringal Hawks’ Ruby Gillard.

Reinhold’s achievement was even more special, being named A Grade Best and Fairest, as she missed playing in three of the final four games in the season.

Two other younger Kangaroos’ netball players could not be split in the Under 17s Best and Fairest count.

Livvy Blackwell and Ava Derrick both finished with 17 votes each to tie for this year’s Under 17 Best and Fairest award.

Meanwhile, in Australian football, Kangaroos’ player Liam Sinclair finished in joint second place alongside the CSU Bushpigs’ Oscar Preston and East Wagga Kooringal Hawks’ Rhys Pollock.

This season’s Gerald Clear winner was Barellan Two Blues ruckman and captain, Riley Irvin, who finished with 15 votes, just one vote ahead of the runners-up.

Irvin is the first Two Blues’ player to win the medal in 37 years.
