Narrandera Shire Council is excited to announce that nominations are now open for the Narrandera Youth Spotlight 2026, celebrating the achievements, talents and contributions of young people across the shire.

As part of Youth Week 2026, the Youth Spotlight shines a light on young people aged 12 to 24 years who are making a positive impact, demonstrating leadership, and inspiring others through their actions, passions, and personal journeys.

Community members, schools, organisations, families and peers are encouraged to nominate young people across a range of spotlight areas including:

• Sports and recreation

• Arts, music or creative talent

• Culture and community leadership

• School achievements or education

• Volunteering or community service

• Apprenticeship, traineeship or work

• Kindness, leadership or positive role model

• Overcoming challenges or personal growth

• Environmental action or caring for Country

Mayor Neville Kschenka said the Youth Spotlight is a meaningful way to recognise and celebrate the diverse accomplishments of Narrandera’s young people.

“Our young people are doing great things every day, from excelling in their chosen fields to supporting others and contributing to the community," he said.

"The Youth Spotlight is about recognising these efforts and sharing their stories with the wider community."

Nominations are open to all eligible young people living, working or studying in the Narrandera Shire.

Council encourages everyone to take part and help highlight the inspiring young people who make Narrandera such a vibrant community.

Nominees will be showcased throughout Youth Week.

Nominations close: 5pm, Thursday, 9 April.
