Mayor George Weston and deputy Michael Kidd (pictured) have been re-elected as mayor and deputy mayor for the term ending 29 September 2028.
Cr Weston has served on Leeton Shire Council for 30 years, including 14 years as deputy mayor. A local business owner and longstanding contributor to community and service organisations, he thanked his fellow councillors for their continued confidence and support.
“I am grateful for the trust placed in me to continue serving as Mayor. We are here to represent our community, and I look forward to continuing to work with council, staff and the community to achieve positive outcomes for Leeton Shire,” Cr Weston said.
Cr Weston also welcomed the re-election of Cr Kidd as deputy mayor, recognising his dedication to the Leeton Shire and the valuable experience and insight he brings to the role.
Cr Kidd brings more than 15 years’ experience as a Leeton Shire councillor.
A radiographer at Leeton District Hospital, he has lived in Leeton since 1982 and contributes to a range of local committees and community organisations. His re-election recognises the experience, local knowledge and commitment he brings to the deputy mayor role.
