Coolamon residents will have the chance to explore some of the district’s most picturesque private gardens when Rotary Coolamon hosts its Garden Viewing event on Sunday 18 October.

The self-guided experience will run from 10am to 4pm, with six gardens included on the route.

Participants will register at the Allawah Community Centre, 6 Dr Buchanan Drive, before setting out to enjoy a day of colour, creativity and local horticultural talent.

Morning and afternoon tea will be available at the Centre for $8 per person.

Entry prices are set at $20 for adults, $15 for concession holders and $35 for families.

Preparations are underway for the Ganmain and District Poultry Club’s annual Helmsman Sale, to be held on Saturday 17 October at the Poultry Pavilion in Ganmain.

The shed will open from 7am, with all birds required to be penned by 9am ahead of the auction running from 9.30am to 10.30am.

Pens cost $5 each, with a maximum of three birds sold together as one lot.

Tables are available for $20, while sundry items and eggs may be entered for $2 per item. A bidder number costs $2, and the event will operate as a cash–only sale.
