Yanco-Wamoon Hawks Rugby League 2026 Women’s Tackle Awards were presented to the winning players last week.

They were:

Manager’s award - Gorgie Levett

Coaches award - Keri-Ann Nathan

Most Improved - Riri Smith and Jessica Ryan

Most consistent - Annie James

Player’s Player - Annie James

Best and fairest - Lucy Hickenbotham

The Women’s Tackle best and fairest award is proudly named in honour of Monique Higgins, whose passion, determination and commitment have been a driving force behind the establishment and growth of Women’s Tackle at the Yanco-Wamoon Hawks.

Monique’s belief in creating opportunities for women to play the game, along with the countless hours she has dedicated behind the scenes, has helped turn Women’s Tackle into an important part of the club.

Naming the Women’s Tackle Best and Fairest Trophy in her honour recognises the lasting contribution Monique has made to the Hawks and to the women who proudly pull on the maroon and white.
