Narrandera Christian Revival Church pastor Trevor Murphy handed over the role of Senior Pastor at Narrandera Christian Revival Church to Pastor Jeremy Campbell at a moving ceremony at the Church last weekend.
Pastor Murphy said he and his wife Sandra were privileged to officially recognise and acknowledge the call of God upon Pastor Campbell and his wife who were very dear to them and who had ministered alongside them at Narrandera CRC Church for many years.
Pastor Campbell was accompanied by his wife Toni and their three children, Micah, Flossy and Lettie.
He was inducted into the role of Senior Pastor at Narrandera CRC Church with the help of special guest Pastor Caroline Dennis, who together with her husband Dave, pastor the CRC Church in Port Macquarie together and became valued friends of the Narrandera CRC church family.
Pastor Murphy said it had been an honour for Sandra and himself to serve in this capacity for the past 25 years - leading an amazing team of genuine, committed, supportive and loving people who partnered with them in shepherding this amazing church family through some significantly fruitful years.
Prior to becoming Senior Pastor in 1998, Pastor Murphy served the church family in various capacities for approximately 20 years under the leadership of previous Senior Pastors Chas Wright and his wife Laurel and Pastor Malcolm Taylor and his wife Jill. These two couples influenced the Murphys’ lives and ministry in no small way and Pastor Taylor remained a great friend and inspiration to Pastor Murphy personally after all these years.
Approximately 12 months ago Sandra transitioned the leadership of the church’s worship and music team to Toni, after doing such a great job leading this important area of ministry for the past 25 years.
The Murphys will remain based in Narrandera, cheering on Jeremy and the team as they lead into an exciting season for the Narrandera CRC and associated churches in the region.
Pastor Murphy said he would continue in his various roles as Executive Pastor of the regional network of CRC Countrylife churches, State Chairman of the NSW/ACT/Qld CRC family of churches and serving on the National Executive team, a ministry role which he enjoyed and hoped to apply himself a little more to over the next few years.
He said he plans to continue regularly visiting and serving the overseas Mission fields in Serbia, Sri Lanka and PNG, where a close relationship had been enjoyed for the past 25 years.
“I have also embraced the leadership/pastoral responsibilities of our Coolamon CRC church, following Pastor Annette Cork’s resignation to take up full time work/ministry elsewhere,” he said.
“ Sandra and I are excited serve alongside the church family in ministering to the Coolamon and surrounding communities. Big changes for us, but we are very excited for what the next decade or two has in store for us and our family,” he said.
“I guess while ever Sandra and I have breath, we are set to continue delighting in the will of God and living out this incredibly blessed life God has given us.”
