Given it was the first, last and only carnival in the region for the season – outside of the Zone selection carnivals – the Kooringal-Wagga Athletics Carnival was held over the weekend and was very well supported by clubs outside the region, with athletes coming all the way from Gosford, Bankstown, Woden, Belconnen and Dickson in Canberra, Albury and Wodonga, Orange, Dubbo and Forbes.

The carnival certainly provided some great competition for the kids and the Narrandera Little Athletics Club did the town proud with a myriad of exceptional performances on show.

Little athletes go red for Coles community round

The Coles Community round is a celebration of the Coles Little Athletics partnership at Little Athletics centres across Australia, held between February 17 to 27.

At the club night on Monday, February 22, Narrandera Little Athletics dressed up in red and enjoyed games such as shopping bag sack race and a banana relay as part of these celebrations.

As part of their support for Little Athletics, Coles "fuels" our athletes by providing bananas to clubs (when they aren't hampered by COVID and supply shortages) and also has provided sports equipment grants to over 370 athletics centres across Australia.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the community reusable bags goes towards this initiative as well as supporting Clean Up Australia, SecondBite, Guide Dogs Australia and other community organisations.
