Scones with jam and cream, a tin shed pavilion packed with knitwear, a pen for a parading carousel of cattle, and maybe some rides and show bags.
But behind every jar of preserved peaches are generations of skills being passed down at agricultural shows held across the region each year.
Agricultural shows like Narrandera have faced headwinds and challenges, with volunteer numbers in decline for years, compounded by the disruption of the COVID-19 pandemic.
But with some older volunteers aged out of being involved in community events, it is important to encourage the next generation to step up.
Narrandera Show Society has re-formed again with the Secretary Angela Oram and treasurer Sandra Weaven.
