Lockhart Shire councillor Frances Day has thanked the Lockhart Cafe Restaurant for hosting the council’s latest monthly community coffee catch-up with a councillor event and for its “excellent coffee and a welcoming atmosphere”.
She believes these types of events prove beneficial to both the council and the community.
“As a councillor, I am always encouraged by our monthly community coffee catch-up and would like to sincerely thank Lockhart Shire Council general manager, Gavin Rhodes, Cr Erica Jones and local police for their ongoing commitment to attending,” Cr Day said.
“These meetings are a powerful opportunity for the community to connect, speak openly and be heard.
“The conversations are honest, constructive and energising, a reminder of what can be achieved when people come together for a shared purpose.
“It is this kind of consistent engagement each month that builds trust and strengthens relationships.
“I’m looking forward to many more of these valuable community conversations ahead.”
