It might not be the City to Surf, but the Narrandera Town2Beach event is the town's equivalent to the iconic marathon in Sydney.

The recent run, walk and ride event offered multiple course options.

Organised by Bidgee Fitness, the seventh annual fundraising event started and finished at The Shack at Narrandera Showground.

One of the organisers, Bidgee Fitness president Rachael Hyde said it was a fantastic turnout at this year’s event.

“There were 216 participants from all over country, with a few overseas competitors as well,” she said.

“It was perfect weather and our tracks were green and beautiful.

“Joining in conjunction with the Narrandera Koala Festival was a great decision - Brewery Flat was the perfect venue, with so much happening and room for all to enjoy.”

Rachael said there were a few “teething problems with the new venue, but they would be rectified for next year’s event.

“We are always learning and looking to improve,” Rachael said.

“We couldn't put this event on without the wonderful support of all of our local sponsors.

“Without your ongoing support, the event couldn't go ahead.

“All monies raised on the day go directly to our gym.

“This allows us to maintain our gym, purchase new equipment and keep our 24-hour access and membership at a very low $10 per week.

“To our volunteers that return year after year, plus our brand new people, we value you and thank you so much.”

The men’s results for the 21.1-kilometre race featured Marshall Presser in first place, Robert Lansdown was the runner-up and Ben Frizzell placed third.

Jade O’Bryan was the fastest female in the 21.1km race, followed by runner-up Andrea Arragon and Kathleen Morgan in third place.

Aiden Fattore won the men’s 13km race, with Chris Palmer in second place and Alex Melville in third place.

Amy Crosbie won the women’s 13km event, Lucy Wright was the runner-up and Chloe Boots placed third.

With growing support and strong community spirit, there’s no doubt the Town2Beach is fast becoming one of Narrandera’s most anticipated calendar events.
