MP Farley reaffirms his commitment to One Nation

Farrer MP David Farley has reaffirmed his commitment to One Nation, rejecting speculation that he is considering leaving the party. “I am not leaving One Nation,” Mr Farley said. “Representing Farrer in the House of Representatives requires political courage and tenacity, and I get that in spades with One Nation. “That is what underpins my commitment to One Nation and my support for Senator Pauline Hanson’s leadership.” Mr Farley said Senator Hanson has been unwavering in her support for his campaign to return productivity and capacity to Farrer. “I made an undertaking not only to One Nation and its leadership, but to the people of Farrer,” he said. “When voters elected me in May, they knew exactly what shirt I was wearing and exactly what I stood for. Nothing has changed.” Mr Farley welcomed the Prime Minister’s offer of an additional staff member but said the proposal falls well short of what is required to properly represent one of Australia’s largest electorates. “The offer of an additional staff member is welcome, but it is unfortunately ill-timed while ongoing discussions with Senator Hanson continue regarding the staffing resources for the minor parties and cross bench,” he said. “What is needed is a staffing allocation that brings my office closer to parity with comparable electorate offices. “Any suggestion that staffing resources or water policy outcomes could be used as an inducement to influence my political position is both disrespectful and misguided. “This is not my first rodeo in politics. My decisions are guided by my values, my principles, and the commitments I have made to the people who elected me. “My focus remains exactly where it has always been fighting for the people of Farrer, returning productivity and capacity to the region, and ensuring regional Australia receives the representation and resources it deserves.”
