Narrandera Shire Council has approved the lease transfer to Jamie Colwill and Jane Colwill for the Lease for Management of the Barellan Memorial Pool Complex.

The lease will start on 1 September, and has two years remaining with an option of five further years.

Due to personal reasons, Bryan and Felicity Doyle advised the council of their wish to assign the transfer of the current lease to the Colwills, who have both worked at the pool over the last two seasons under the supervision of the current lessee.

The council staff completed probity checks as set out in the terms of the lease, which determined the proposed lessees to be suitably qualified and experienced to manage and operate the pool facility as per the lease conditions.

Jane is a qualified swimming teacher, has been employed at the Barellan pool for an extended period and is qualified to undertake all aspects of lifeguarding duties.

Both are involved in the day-to-day operational responsibility, including pool water quality testing and dosing and as Barellan residents, expressed their desire to take over the existing terms of lease.
