The Ardlethan Barellan District Cricket Association (ABDCA) made an early return to their 2022/23 45-over competition on January 7 and 14, with rounds six and seven now in the books.

In round six, Narrandera fell to Barellan when playing at home, with all-rounder Anthony McDonald proving the difference between the two sides.

McDonald scored 32 and L. Mahalm scored 20 as Barellan reached 140. Michael Keech took 4/18 for Narrandera.

Bailey Winter then spearhead the Barellan attack, taking five wickets and McDonald took three as they rolled through Narrandera for a comfortable win.

Keech top-scored for the home side with 54 not out, batting through the entire Carpheads innings.

In other round six results, Ardlethan/Beckom (111) defeated Yanco (106), with Tim Carroll taking six wickets for the winners.

Both Coolamon sides won too, with the Rovers defeating Kamarah, while the Crickets thrashed Ganmain by 200 runs.

In round seven, the Carpheads were well-beaten by Kamarah by eight wickets.

Playing at Kamarah on Saturday, Narrandera batted first and were bowled out for 107 with Jordan Camm top-scoring with 47.

Kieran Hume (4/31) and Jason Malone (2/45) proved hard to play.

In reply, Kamarah had no issues chasing down the total, finishing on 2/109, with Jason Malone (40) and Russell Cody (23) guiding their side to a win.

Premiers Ganmain bounced back in round seven, defeating Barellan by three wickets when on the road.

Barellan batted first and scored 106, with Bailey Winter (32) and Hayden Mahalm (31) top-scoring, while for Ganmain, Jacob Guthrie finished with figures of 2/27.

Ganmain chased down the total, scoring 7/110, with A. Proctor (37) and J. Linsell (12) top-scoring.

Barellan’s best bowlers were Zach Clark (2/25) and Bailey Winter (2/27).

Unfortunately, scores from the round seven games between the Coolamon Rovers and Ardlethan/Beckom, and Yanco and Coolamon Crickets were not made available before going to print.
