I am writing to register my concern regarding Senator Hanson’s comments on the topic of Australia’s Indigenous community.

Your public silence on her comments suggests that your views and values align with this hateful and divisive rhetoric.

While you and I might personally disagree across a number of policy areas and have had many friendly and robust discussions, I am hesitant to believe that your views and personal values are aligned with Senator Hanson’s on this matter.

Should her views and statements reflect your own opinions and position, then that is a matter of grave disappointment to me and to many, many citizens in our close knit community of Narrandera.

I am writing to simply and respectfully request that you publicly repudiate Senator Hanson’s comments, and clarify that her world view on this matter is hers alone and not yours as a Member of Parliament and Representative of the people of Farrer, and most importantly in this context as an advocate and champion for the First Nations people of Farrer.
