More than 100 musicians from across New South Wales and Victoria will converge on Leeton on Saturday and Sunday 7 and 8 November for the Leeton Outback Band Spectacular 2026, culminating in a spectacular Massed Band Concert at the Roxy Theatre at 7pm on Saturday night. Musicians from 12 visiting bands will join the Leeton Town Band for the evening concert, combining on stage as one massed ensemble. The weekend will continue on Sunday with further performances by the Australian Army Band Kapooka, along with a marching band display at Mountford Park, which will be free for the community to attend. Before Saturday night’s main event, the visiting bands will take to the stage individually at Mountford Park on Saturday morning, giving audiences a taste of the talent coming together for the Massed Band Concert later that evening. Tickets for the 7pm concert are available from the Roxy Theatre. Performing across the weekend will be musicians representing the Australian Army Band Kapooka, Cootamundra, Diamond Valley, Griffith, Hawkesbury, Hillston, Legends of Brass, Parkes, Swan Hill, Temora, the Wagga Riverina Conservatorium and West Wyalong, alongside the Leeton Town Band. First established in 2010, the Leeton Outback Band Spectacular has become a celebration of community music, bringing musicians from different towns and backgrounds together to perform, connect and share their love of music. Leeton Town Band organisers say the weekend is about much more than music. “The Band Spectacular celebrates the friendships, connections and sense of community that music creates,” said Leeton Town Band musical director Ruth Tait. “It provides a unique opportunity for musicians from different towns and backgrounds to come together, learn from one another and share the joy of performing.” Audiences can expect a diverse and entertaining program featuring music from stage, screen and concert repertoire, showcasing the talent and dedication of community musicians from across the region.
