Coolamon’s Andrea Hilton has claimed a memorable home victory at the 2026 Vendi Golf Women’s Sand Greens Championship, securing a two-shot win as the tournament returned to Coolamon Sports and Recreation Club for the first time in more than five years. Hilton carded rounds of 82 and 81 to finish with a 36-hole total of 163, holding off Nyngan’s Mandy Martin to claim the championship on home soil. The event attracted 83 players from across New South Wales, with strong contingents from Nyngan and Coleambally Golf Clubs joining the local field for two days of competition. Werris Creek’s Jenny Fisher set the early pace in ideal conditions on Saturday, opening with a round of 80 to take a two-shot lead over Hilton. Martin remained firmly in contention with an opening 83, while Nyngan teammates Jodi Douglas and Jodi Stewart were also within striking distance after both carded rounds of 84. However, it was Hilton who made her move in Sunday’s final round, following up her opening 82 with an 81 to secure the title and cap off a successful return of the championship to Coolamon. In the Nett Championship, Coleambally’s Gail Hibbert produced two consistent rounds of 64 nett to claim the title with a 36-hole total of 128. Hibbert’s victory came after Ali Morriss had set the early benchmark with an impressive opening-round 61 nett, the lowest nett round of the championship. There was further success for both Nyngan and Coleambally in the team competitions, with Nyngan Golf Club claiming the SWLGA Bowl, while Coleambally Golf Club took home the RLGA Bowl. Golf NSW thanks Coolamon Sports and Recreation Club for its support in hosting the championship and helping deliver a successful return to the venue.
