The Narrandera Lizards reserve team has suffered its first loss this season in the Group 20 Rugby League competition.
The Lizards were chasing three consecutive wins after their opening round 36-12 victory against the Leeton Galloping Greens and hammering the Yanco Wamoon Hawks 36-0 in the previous round.
However, the Lizards had their colours lowered in a 16-12 loss against the Griffith Waratah Tigers last Saturday, on home turf at Narrandera Sportsground.
The three tries to two defeat featured the Lizards’ lock Jamain Morgan repeating his feat from the opening round by running in two tries.
Five-eighth Gary Ingram kept the Lizards in the game, successfully kicking two conversions.
Despite the defeat, the Lizards remain in second place on the ladder.
They will face an away game against the Griffith Black and Whites at Solar Mad Stadium Griffith on Sunday.
The Black and Whites are coming off their first win of the season, after beating the Hay Magpies 32-16 in last week’s round.
The game is scheduled to start at 1.15pm.
