The Narrandera Lizards’ reserve team earned the week off and booked a place in this year’s Group 20 rugby league grand final after fobbing off the challenge of the Yenda Blueheelers last Sunday.
The Lizards defeated the Blueheelers 32-16 in their major semi-final game at the Griffith Ex-Servicemen’s Club Sports Oval (Exies) last Sunday to secure a berth in the premiership decider.
Despite being sin-binned and off the field for 10 minutes, prop D’Andre Williams was at the forefront of the Lizards’ strike force, running in a hat-trick of tries in the six tries to three victory.
The other Lizards’ try scorers included one each for Jahrel Tereva, centre Deakin Bright and fullback Matari Johnson.
Lock Gary Ingram successfully kicked four conversion attempts.
Having this weekend off to regroup and prepare for the grand final, the Lizards will face the winner of this weekend’s preliminary final between the Griffith Waratah Tigers and the Blueheelers in this season’s climax to the 2026 campaign.
