Club Open Singles Semi Finals: David Ivanoff def Gary Ingram 25-20, Peter Durnan defeated Matt Thornton 25-19. The final between David and Peter is to be played on or before June 3. All the best to both for a great game.

The nominations for the Annual Rum Cup (Harry Kent Diggers Day Legacy Shield) set for Saturday July 8 are on the Notice Board. Don’t miss this one.

Organise a team and join in this exceptional day, all in the name of honouring our fallen and helping Legacy Narrandera Branch raise funds to provide much needed support to their families. It’s a great day for the seasoned, beginners and even the social bowlers to join a team of four and enjoy this cause. Bowls clothing preferred, only $40 per player, lunch included.

Nominations now open for the Club Minor Pairs (now 3 Bowl), set for Saturday and Sunday June 17 and 18 and Sunday June 25. The nomination sheet is on the Notice Board to take both teams and individual names and will close on Friday June 16. Yes, a few of tweaks there to the comp conditions, now playing with just three bowls, either play or forfeit, and for those bowlers who do not have a team, or like the thought of playing with whoever they are drawn with, the single-entry option is also now available.

An update on State: Narrandera’s awesome Grade 2 Pennant team are not far from heading off to sunny Byron Bay to represent Narrandera and their club in the State Pennant Playoffs. Team members are busily raising funds to help get the team and their Team Manager there. They have a great firewood raffle going which is proudly sponsored by two local businesses. Call into the Club and purchase your tickets.

They’ve also been out and about letting local businesses know where and why they are going and receiving assistance that is so greatly appreciated. All funds raised will help with travel and accommodation for the full team. Fellow bowlers and the Club thank each and every business who offers support and all those buying a ticket in the raffle.

A Bowling Tip was passed on this week with great certainty; “Don’t make a rash statement about not having a beer until there is Chalk on your Bowl”. hhmmm could make for a dry game.
