Narrandera is getting ready to party as the Narrandera Spring Fair prepares to roll out its biggest celebration yet on Saturday 7 November. As the sun sets over East and Bolton Streets, the town centre will come alive. The sounds of laughter, music and people out and about will fill the streets. The delicious smells wafting from food vans and our local cafes will tempt our taste buds – who wants to cook at home when you have so much choice at the fair? The colourful and busy sights of entertainers, market stalls, displays and so much more will make for a fun-filled night out for all. Gather the kids and your friends and family. Welcome visitors from near and far. Meet new friends. Mingle along with the crowd, stop for a while and take your time to explore – you’ll have plenty of time from 6 pm to 9:30 pm. We’re in for a fabulous 2026 Narrandera Spring Fair. For one night only, the streets will be transformed into a bustling community festival with every corner offering something new to taste, see, try or enjoy. Organised by the Narrandera Business Chamber, the Spring Fair has grown into one of the region’s most cherished community events — and this year, organisers say they’ve pulled out all the stops. With generous support from the NSW government’s Open Streets Program Grant, Murrumbidgee Irrigation, and Devlin’s Bridge Wind Farm, the Fair is set to deliver a program that’s not just bigger, but richer, more colourful and more inclusive than ever before. One of the most exciting additions to this year’s lineup is the arrival of Millie Ross, the inventive gardening creative known to audiences across Australia through Gardening Australia. Millie’s approach to gardening is anything but ordinary — she’s a maker, a fixer, a builder, and a champion of using local, low cost and sustainable materials to create gardens that are biodiverse, productive and full of personality. Her book, The Thrifty Gardener, has become a favourite among gardeners who love to experiment, repurpose and create beauty from what they already have. Millie’s philosophy is deeply rooted in joy and gratitude. “The garden is where I live my life,” she says. “It’s where I cultivate ideas and play, have conversations and celebrate… We harvest something for every meal from the garden. It’s part of every moment, good and bad, and I feel immensely grateful for having it.” Her appearance at the Spring Fair offers locals a rare chance to hear from someone who doesn’t just garden — she lives it, breathes it and shares it with infectious enthusiasm. But Millie is just one part of a night overflowing with entertainment. The Food and Market Precinct, delivered in partnership with The Country Maker Markets, will be a feast for the senses. Expect sizzling street food, sweet treats, artisan goods, handmade crafts, homewares, gifts and creative pieces from makers across the Riverina. It’s the kind of market you wander slowly, discovering something new at every stall. Music will pulse through the streets thanks to Under the Radar, a high energy band from Dubbo known for their lively mix of rock, pop and crowd favourites. Local performers will also take the stage, adding that unmistakable Narrandera flavour that will make this year’s Spring Fair feel like a celebration of home. Families will find endless fun with amusements including the Fun House, jumping castles, Cha Cha Ride, Swing Ride, balloon twisting, face painting, ball pit play area, the Old Kentucky Petting Zoo, yard games, Putt Putt golf and the ever popular Guru Dudu Silent Disco, offering six guided sessions of pure joy. The Wild Easel painting workshop will give visitors a chance to get hands on and make something special. TAFE NSW are holding two flower arranging demonstrations with their amazing teacher Sarah Cox. The Spring Fair also shines a spotlight on local talent and community pride. Local school children, Studio 3 dancers and Kurrajong will take part in the ever-popular community Dancing In The Streets segment. Just to make it more exciting we have decided to make a record for the most people in NSW dancing the Chicken Dance. The more to join in the better. The legendary Barbecue Challenge returns with smoky rivalry and plenty of personality, while the Narrandera Auto Club’s Show N Shine will showcase classic cars, vintage favourites, modern muscle and custom builds — always a crowd magnet. Adding even more magic to the night, Shake Shake Theatre will bring imaginative storytelling with their shows Potato Island and Puss in Boots. Roaming performers from Elemental Entertainment will glide through the crowd in stunning spring themed costumes before delivering a breathtaking eight minute fire finale to close the night. Slack Taxi will add charm and whimsy with their beloved roving characters, delighting visitors of all ages. The Fair’s finale this year is a fire dance by performers from Elemental Entertainment. To ensure everyone can join the fun, inclusive transport options will be available. The Narrandera Lions Club Train will run special Fair day routes for a gold coin donation, and the Narrandera Flag Minibus will provide free transport for residents without transport, elderly community members and people with disabilities. Check out our Spring Fair Narrandera Facebook page for all the updates on the fair. With its huge program, warm atmosphere and commitment to celebrating everything that makes Narrandera special, the Narrandera Spring Fair is shaping up to be a night to remember — a joyful, colourful, community powered celebration that brings the whole region together. Bigger, brighter and absolutely unmissable.
