The Narrandera Fishing Club, in conjunction with the Morundah Community Committee, have joined forces to recommence the running of the Morundah Carpathon.
The Carpathon has not been held for about 10 years now, so the club is thrilled to announce this exciting news.
Most people who have been to the Morundah Carpathon in the past would hold fond memories of many happy experiences.
The Carpathon will run from 12 noon on Friday 31 October 31 through to 11am Sunday 2 November so mark those calendars and save the dates.
Entry cost will be $25 per person, with kids 10 years and under free.
Prizemoney totalling $2000 is on offer in four different categories.
These categories will be:
* Men (over 16 years of age) $500, LADIES (over 16 years of age) $500
* Girls (16 years of age and under) $250, and boys (16 years of age and under) $250 for the Biggest Single Carp (fork length)
* Open category for the heaviest total weight (kg) of Carp caught, per camp $200
* Open category for the Stringer of 3 Carp (combined fork length) $200
* Open category for the Mystery length Carp (fork length) $100
* Open category for the Biggest Redfin caught (fork length)
* Mystery prize
(Please note that fork length is the measurement from the tip of the nose to the base of the fin).
NSW DPIRD (ie NSW Fisheries) will be present - with prizes and giveaways.
● Registration will be at the Morundah Recreation Grounds
● Weigh in and measuring of Carp will also be at the Recreation Grounds
● Presentation will be held at the PUB on Sunday at 12 noon
● Morundah Community Committee will operate a canteen at the Recreation Grounds
● There is no internet connection or ATM facilities available so please bring cash (cash is king)
● Free camping, hot showers and toilets will be available to competitors at the Recreation Grounds
The club is currently arranging the printing of posters and registration forms along with the Terms and Conditions for the event, which will be distributed around the town, so keep an eye out for those.
