Narrandera Carpheads A grade side will be looking for some standout performances from their batsmen this weekend as they fight their way to victory in the second day’s play of a two day final against Leeton and District at the Mark Taylor Oval on Saturday.
Rohan Rehwinkle and Jono Doyle were stand out bowlers for the Carpheads last weekend and are also strong batsmen.
The Carpheads batted for the the final nine overs of the first day’s play on Saturday to finish on 0 for 20.
They need a further 120 runs with 10 wickets in hand to secure first innings points and keep their finals hopes alive when the two teams meet on Saturday.
Narrandera Carpheads B grade side will be looking to get back in the winners’ circle this week after a disappointing loss to the Colts last Saturday.
The Carps will be strengthened by the return of Dillion Penhall, Wyatt Gilbert and Rohan Stimson who are all available this week.
Penhall will solidify the top order. Besides Jono Schofield he has been the Carps’ best batsman this season so it will be good to get him back, according to captain Dave Kroek.
“Gilbert and Stimson both bowled really well a fortnight ago so they’ll both be handy additions this week,” Kroek said.
“Brodie Perram and Schofield have been great this year – I always look to their experience both as leaders and top performers and I’m sure both will go well again.”
Kroek said their opponents this week, the Phantoms, have been in improved form over the last couple of weeks so his team would not be taking them lightly.
“ It’ll be up to everyone to play their best as we look to get back in form,” he said.
