The coaching sessions are being led by Griffith based tennis couple Danny and Abbey Dossetor each Saturday in November and are being held at Narrandera Tennis Club.
“We had 22 children and teens in attendance from the ages of six through to 14 and I know they all had a great time,” Ms Foster said. “It was very well received by both the kids and the parents and it was wonderful to see so many people on the courts having a great time.
“We even spoke to some of the parents about getting back into tennis via our social tennis on Tuesday nights.”
Whilst a number of Narrandera families were in attendance residents from Boree Creek made the trip in to take part, Ms Foster’s amongst them.
“We live at Boree Creek, we and another family made the trip in for the coaching session, in fact one dad I know suggested if Narrandera had not gone ahead, he would have driven to West Wyalong to ensure his daughter had the chance to be coached,” Ms Foster said. “It’s like any sport if your children are keen and prepared to work, you need to take them where they need to be.”
Asked about the Dossetor’s enjoyment levels during the classes, Ms Foster noticed the broad smiles on their faces.
“They have a great rapport with the kids; I am sure both they and the kids had a great time.
“My son was so excited to hear that the lessons were going for five weeks.”
