Students brave cold for carnival

Narrandera Public School hosted the Leeton-Narrandera Primary Schools Sports Association District Athletics Carnival at the Narrandera High School ovals last Friday.

Students from Narrandera Public School, Parkview Public School, Leeton Public School, Wamoon Public School, Yanco Public School and Whitton/Murrami Public School travelled to Narrandera to compete in the carnival.

Around 150 students competed for their place in the LNPSSA team to compete at the Riverina carnival at Albury. While the day was cold it didn’t stop the students from putting in their best efforts on the day.

Organisers and teachers commented that the day would not have been so successful were it not for the efforts of students from Narrandera High who volunteered to help out on the day. NHS students braved biting winds to keep scores, set up equipment, corral students and clear tracks to help the day run smoothly.

Congratulations to Campbell Lyons and Olivia Light who were awarded 12/13 year-old boy and girl champion.
