Narrandera Netball Association recently held its Representative Programme Presentation Night at Narrandera Golf Club After a successful second season in the Statewide Representative arena, players, coaches, managers and families gathered to celebrate the overall success of the programme and to commence planning for next season.
Narrandera’s Rep Programme this year included an Under 11s development squad, Under 12s, Under 14s, Under 15s and Under 17s teams – all of which participated in several regional carnivals, and State Championships in Sydney or Gosford.
NNA Rep Co-ordinator, Michelle Smith, thanked all players, coaches, support staff, umpires and families for their commitment to the programme, which has certainly seen the level of skill improve among the area’s netball ranks.
The many sponsors of the Rep programme were also thanked. “A programme like this would certainly not be possible without the generosity of our local business people,” Ms Smith said.
A special presentation was also made to retiring President of NNA Claire Bolton, to thank her for over 20 years of service to the Club. The quality of netball in the Riverina has been remarked upon, with Wagga, Barellan and other Riverina communities boasting strong rep netball programmes.
Trials for all teams for the 2019 season will be held on Sunday October 14 at Narrandera Stadium from 10am. Trial nomination forms must be submitted by September 21 and are available on the website or via the Facebook page link. Applications for coaching positions are also open, with further information on the website.
