Narrandera Bidgee Boxing will be holding their first event at their new facility at the Narrandera Showgrounds on Friday July 3 from 5.30pm.
Narrandera Bidgee Boxing founder Neville Bamblett is looking forward to hosting the Bidgee Bolters event at The Shack and providing a fun and healthy social activity for the community.
“We have had quite a few people interested in the event already. It’s particularly exciting because there has been a lot of new names to our community who are eager to attend,” Mr Bamblett said.
There will be a number of tracks set up for the participants to run, walk or ride varying distances.
“Afterwards everyone is invited back to the showgrounds for pulled pork rolls, loaded spuds, a fire bucket and an opportunity to socialise and have a bit of a chat.
“It’s going to be a good opportunity to get some exercise but also to socialise and have a chat by the fire, which is essentially what Bidgee Boxing is all about.”
Since reopening the gym, Narrandera Bidgee Boxing has been busy and has been gaining more new members than ever before.
“We are getting around three to four new members each week, which is great for our community,” Mr Bamblett said.
