Lizards score close victory in Griffith

The under 8s Junior Lizards in Griffith over
the weekend. The Lizards had a close win, coming home at 46-40.

The Narrandera under 8s Junior Lizards played Darlington Point/Coleambally (DPC)  at Griffith on Saturday.

The Lizards were lucky enough to have a win, 46-40, in a high scoring game.

“It was a really great team effort to beat them; our little Lizards have a lot of heart,” said coach Ian “Bulldog” Matthews.

Jaylan Abrahams, with two cousins Jarrahn Matthew and Aston Hammond managed to score an astonishing 17 tries between them.

“Every time these three touched the ball they ran the length of the field,” Mr Matthews said.

Kynan Whitman with his partners in crime Alex Levett and Nate Davies put some big hits into the bigger boys from the Point, knocking them over with ease.

In a terrific show of sportsmanship, Olly Mohr stepped up to help his mates out from the Under 7s.

The Junior Lizards had a fantastic game, and the club couldn’t be prouder of their efforts.
