The Riverina’s premier outdoor aquatic centre was unveiled with a splash on Saturday as Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke cut the ribbon, and the public took to the water.

The Lake Talbot Water Park now has an accessible family change room, a ramp for access to the pool deck and three giant water slides.

Narrandera Shire Council mayor Neville Kschenka described the Lake Talbot Water Park as the crown jewel of the shire.

Cr Kschenka said the new change rooms, including two universal family rooms, at pool level were a welcome addition to the facility.

“The water slides have been an extremely hot topic since the decision was made to remove the much loved rampage slide and replace the blue slide,” he said. “But we now have three exceptional, thrilling rides. Council’s aim was to modernise the existing slides to ensure that Lake Talbot Water Park remains a major tourist attraction across the region.

“This goal has been achieved, keeping us ahead of the game.”
