Gone fishin’

With social gatherings, sporting games and events being postponed Narrandera’s Bait, Balls and Bullets shop owner, Bobbie Hill has some ideas on how to keep entertained and active during this time of social isolation.

Miss Hill, a passionate fisherwoman, is encouraging anyone looking for something to do to get out on the river, channel or lake and do some fishing.

Miss Hill’s business Bait, Balls and Bullets is a shop specializing in the sale of fishing and hunting supplies and of course ball sports.

“Narrandera is a great fishing location,” Miss Hill said, “and is an activity that can be done while complying with social distancing requirements.”

As Miss Hill’s business specialises in recreational activities, she may be required to close her doors along with many other businesses in town.

Miss Hill is involved with Mates and Baits fishing group, which is a social group focused on locals fishing locally. The group gets together and goes fishing one Sunday a month. It is an open group, but of course activities have been temporarily postponed.

Facebook has been useful in promoting Miss Hill’s business and the page also provides a platform  for the fishing community to stay connected and post pictures of their catches.

Social media will be a tool relied upon heavily for businesses shutting their doors because of COVID-19.
