Big turnout for Graded Triples

Third placed Graded Triples Ed and Steve Zak (Peter Sheather absent). Twenty teams contested the event at the Narrandera Bowling Club at the weekend.

Twenty teams turned out to compete in the Narrandera Bowling Club’s Graded Triples Tournament with some very impressive bowls played over the two day competition.

Winners were Mark Pearce, Bernie Benson, Jim Sloan (Wagga Rules) 5W + 59.

Fourth place: Bruce Russell, Shane Dunnett, Neville Limbrick 4W + 36.

Third pplace: Steve Zak, Peter Sheather, Ed Zak 5W + 38.

Second place: Peter Durnan, Rodney Flack, Jim Durnan 5W + 42.

Other results were: Best Performed Game 1: Richard Durnan, Terry Walsh and Dave Cassidy.

Game 2: Ron Donohoe Dexter Briggs, George Shadbolt.

Game 3: Mick Cassimatis, Ian Rankin, Geoff Angove.

Game 4: David Hoffmann, Les Caldarevic, Daryl Crawford.

Game 5: Tim Barnes, Gus Laruffa, Brad Naylor (Leeton District).

Results of the Intertown social competition played last Wednesday at Ganmain: Triples 1 Peter Durnan, Rob Ash, Jim Durnan def Ardlethan 40- 9.

Triples 2 Terry Roach, Kevin Thompson, Bruce Whitby def Coolamon 40-8. Pairs Wayne Norden and Dexter Briggs drew with Ganmain 18-18.

Progressive standings: Narrandera 22½ pts / +180, Ardlethan 13pts / +14, Ganmain 10 / -41, Coolamon 1½ / -159. Another fantastic result by the Redbacks, well done team.

Thursday Social Bowls saw Rob Ash, Kevin Thompson, Keith Hayward take the win. The jackpot was not won and is now sitting at $130. Wrong Bias went to Dexter Briggs, Clive McDonald and Daryl Crawford.

Dixon Fours will resume on or before October 6. Nominations for Consistency Singles are now being called for and close on Sunday October 14.

Play commences Saturday and Sunday October 20 and 21. This is a handicapped event so anyone can win. Check your calendars and get your names in.

Friday Night Bowls team nominations close on Monday October 22 and play commences Friday October 26 so get names in ASAP.

It is six players per team, three of whom play each week, $10 per week each playing member, men women students 12 and over, club social members comp rests over Christmas and New Year, This is a very enjoyable way to be introduced to the game and the family can enjoy a “Family Budget Friendly” dinner from the Club Bistro before play commences at 7pm.
