The Narrandera Youth Girls’ AFL teams will have a home game this Wednesday, with both teams coming up against Leeton.
The arch rivalry will kick off at 5pm at the Narrandera Sportsground.
The Under 13s will play at 5pm, with the Under 17s starting at 7pm.
There will be a game between Griffith and Northern Riverina at 6pm.
The Youth Girls competition started last week and this week will be the second round of play.
“The girls played Griffith last week,” said coach James Sullivan.
“Both teams were beaten, but you could see them improving throughout the game.
“It would be great if people would come down and offer their support.”
The girls have been training hard, with many of this year’s participants part of last year’s original Youth Girls’ team.
Already the league has doubled in size in Narrandera, expanding from one team last year to two.
With community support and growing interest, the league could easily double again next year, opening up a realm of possibilities for young women to pursue their dreams of playing AFL.
