A breath of fresh air for business

Narrandera business owners are encouraged to attend the forum for small business next week.

Narrandera Shire Council is presenting a business forum for all local businesses as an activity of Small Business Month October supported by NSW Department of Industry.

A feature of this event, to be held at the Narrandera Ex-Servicemen’s Club on Thursday 4th October, is the appearance of prominent well known retail consultant, Marguerite Bell of Retail Life.

Council’s Economic Development Manager Peter Dale said that Ms Bell has an impressive track record of energising retail business, and her compelling presentation is not to be missed. Her profile and business details can be viewed at www.retaillife.com.au

“This is considered an opportune time to hear Marguerite’s message in the lead-up to the busy Christmas season trading period,” Mr Dale said.

Also presenting at the forum will be Council’s General Manager George Cowan, who will discuss the proposals around CBD Christmas decorations and competition and other matters.

“This event is to highlight the many activities occurring in Narrandera Shire and forms part of our commitment to Small Business Month October,” Mr Cowan said.

Peter Dale will talk to those attending about an emerging opportunity to participate in the very high quality, widely circulated Central West Lifestyle magazine and the desire for the Narrandera business community to get behind key events and to reap the rewards of extra effort.

Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke is a great supporter of Small Business Month October, a NSW Department of Industry initiative and she will be in attendance at the Narrandera Activated event.

The evening will commence at 6pm and tea, coffee and snacks will be available. This evening is free of charge and all Narrandera business community is invited to attend.

In 2005, Ms Bell was appointed a senior executive for Pretty Girl Fashion Group, becoming the Group’s Strategic Resource Manager.

In 2009 Ms Bell became a retail consultant, enabling her to work with diverse retailers across industries and project type, including Sheridan Australia, W. Lane, Dymocks, Interflora, Mindil Beach Sunset Market Charter Hall shopping centres and the Sandran Property Group.
